The following (with the exception of actual frequencies) is mere speculation based on the constantly changing plans of FDNY and EMS. The data concerning the frequencies is from the FCC web site. In the future, FDNY will move up to UHF from their current VHF dispatch channels. There is no set date for installation.
It's reported that there will also be a narrow band Motorola trunked system using both analog & digital modulation. It is also reported that key City of NY emergency commands/agencies will move to the trunked part of this system. A filing with the FCC on May 26, 2006 shows a construction date of March 31, 2008.
Frequencies for both the trunked system (28 freqs) as well as a conventional system (20 freqs) are shown below. Usage for the others is unknown at this time.
